Peter became part of the off-Broadway production of Crimes of the Heart, which earned him the Theater World Award. His performance also led to his roles in the 1981 film Dragonslayer and the 1982 film Sophie’s Choice.
MacNicol is also a voice actor who provided the voice of the supervillains in a number of comic book adaptations, such as Dr. Kirk/Man-Bat on Batman and Dr. Otto Octavius on The Spectacular Spider-Man.
