He was born in Detroit, Michigan, USA on November 23, 1976, but grew up in Los Angeles, California until he was six. Eventually, he moved back to Detroit to reunite with his father. He went to Western Michigan University, but later transferred to the University of Delaware, where he majored in theater and acting.
