With an estimated net worth of $300 million, Michael Douglas is an American producer, actor and one of the biggest shakers and movers in Hollywood. He was born to British actress Diana Dill and movie icon Kirk Douglas on September 25, 1944. He was raised by his mother and stepfather and spent time with his dad during vacation from military school. He learned about film-making when he was on a vacation with his father.
He started his acting career playing the role of a hip cop in The Streets of San Francisco which aired from 1972-1977 in the national TV. In 1975 he left the TV series to produce One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest which won 5 Oscar awards. From then on, Michael Douglas became a successful producer and box office star until the early 90s. Fatal Attraction, Basic Instinct, Romancing the Stone, Wall Street and The China Syndrome were among his most popular films. His career slowed down in 2000 after marrying Welsh actress Catherine Zeta-Jones who bore him two kids, Carys and Dylan. In September 2010, Douglas announced that he was under treatment for throat cancer (Stage 4).
