Lance Darnell Gross better known as Lance Gross is an American actor. Lance is a widely acclaimed actor, and as such, has won many awards over consecutive years. He was born on 8th July in 1981. He has won the NAACP Image Award for his outstanding performance in music, film, literature and television.

He became famous by his role on the television channel TBS as Calvin Payne in the serial “Tyler Perry’s House of Payne” and in the other films of Perry Productions like “Meet the Browns” and many more. His main source of wealth and fame comes from “Tyler Perry's House of Payne”. He has also acted in the American sitcoms “Eve” and “The Bernie Mac Show”. Lance has played the main role in the television show, the “Tyler Perry’s House of Payne” from 2007 to 2012 and in the show “Steel Magnolias”.

He has also appeared in guest roles on television shows like The Finder, and Royal Pains. He has been seen performing in movies like “Our Family Wedding”, which was released in 2010. He has won the NAACP Award in the category “Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy series” for the show Tyler Perry’s House of Payne in 2008, and again in 2009 and 2010. In 2011, he was again nominated for the   Image Award in the category for the same show.

Gross has completed his degree in Arts from the Howard University. He learned the techniques of acting from the Tasha Smith Acting Studio and the Ivanna Chubbuck Studio.
