John Boyega, a British actor, is famous for playing Finn in Star Wars: The Force Awakens last 2015. Boyega became prominent in his native United Kingdom because of his role of Moses in the sci-fi comedy film Attack the Block. Afterward, he attained international recognition for his work as Finn in the Star Wars series' seventh film.
He was also part of The Circle (2017), the drama films Imperial Dreams (2014), four episodes of the TV series 24: Live Another Day (2014) and the historical fiction drama film Half of a Yellow Sun (2013).
He started acting at London's local performing arts center for talented children called Theatre Peckham. Boyega went to the theater almost every day after school and during weekends. When he was 16, he studied performing arts at South Thames College and joined Hackney's Identity School of Acting. He also enrolled at Greenwich University, but he left it to concentrate on acting when his career took off.
The UK's Royal Mail postal service featured his character, Finn, on a Star Wars postage stamp. They issued it in October 2015. J.J. Abrams got him to play Finn in Star Wars because of his performance in Attack the Block (2011). It is a sci-fi/action/comedy where Abrams became a big fan.
In January 2016, John created his production company, UpperRoom Entertainment Limited.
