Starting his career on stage in 1940s, Klugman began accepting film and TV roles like Cry Terror!, 12 Angry Men, The Defenders, The Twilight Zone, Quincy, M.E., You Again?, Around the World in 80 Days, The Twilight of the Golds¸Dear God, Crossing Jordan, Diagnosis Murder, Glitch (The Outer Limits episode), and When Do We Eat?.

Klugman’s guest role on the TV series The Defenders, earned him his first Emmy Award. Meanwhile, his role as Oscar Madison on the series The Odd Couple which aired from 1970 through 1975, earned him his second and third Emmy awards as well as a Golden Globe Award.

Jack Klugman was married twice. He was first married to Brett Somers in 1953. Their status remained married until Somers’ death in 2007, although the couple has already separated since 1974. A year after Somers’ death, Klugman married his longtime partner since 1988, Peggy Crosby.
