Frank Darabont is a Hungarian-American producer, screenwriter, actor, and film director. During his time in the entertainment industry, Darabont has been nominated for a Golden Globe Award and three Academy Awards.

His work as a director includes The Green Mile, The Mist, and The Shawshank Redemption, all of which are based on work by Stephen King. In 2010, Darabont became the showrunner for AMC's The Walking Dead, directing the pilot episode and serving as executive producer for the series' first season. Having left that show after one season, he is at work developing a new TV show, titled Mob City. Darabont says he plans to work on two new films based on Stephen King properties, The Monkey and The Long Walk.

Frank Darabont is also noted for his work on film and TV projects such as Hell Night, The Seduction, The Woman in the Room, Crimes of Passion, Trancers, A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, The Blob, The Fly II, Frankenstein, Saving Private Ryan, The Salton Sea, Minority Report, Collateral and The Mist. He is also rewriting the script for the 2014 reboot of Godzilla.  On TV, he has contributed on Buried Alive, Tales From The Crypt, The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, Black Cat Run, Raines, and The Shield. 

Darabont Ferenc was born on January 28, 1959 in Montbéliard, France.
