David Keith McCallum, Jr. was born on September 19, 1933 in Glasgow, Scotland. He is an alumnus of Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. From 1956 through 1967, he was married to Jill Ireland. The couple had three sons together named Val, Paul and Jason. Since 1967, he has been married to Katherine Carpenter with whom he has a daughter named Sophie, and son named Peter.
