About David Burtka

Born on May 29th 1975 in Dearborn, Michigan, David Burtka is an American actor, singer and chef with a net worth of $2 Million. His wealth comes as an entertainment news correspondent for E! News.

David grew up in Canton, Michigan and graduated from the Salem High School. He got a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree at the University of Michigan. He also trained at the William Esper Studios. He made his Broadway debut in “Gypsy”, which starred the actress Bernadette Peters. David won the 2001 Clarence Derwent Award for the Most Promising Male Performer as The Boy in the American premiere of “The Play About the Baby”.

He played the role of Matt in the 2004 musical “The Opposite of Sex”. His first performance on television was a guest role in “The West Wing”. Since then, David has appeared on guest roles in “Crossing Jordan”. He was seen in “How I Met Your Mother” as well, where he played Scooter, the former high school boyfriend of Lily. However he soon left acting in 2009 as he wanted to become a chef. David went to the Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts Pasadena, and went on to start a catering company in Los Angeles called Gourmet M.D. He will be soon seen in Osiris Entertainment’s 2013 film, “Annie and the Gypsy”.

When he made his appearance on How I Met Your Mother, a story was published reporting that he got the part because he was in a relationship with one of the series stars Neil Patrick Harris. Later Harris said that he and Burtka were moving in together. Burtka and Harris attended the Emmy Awards in September 2007 where they openly acknowledged themselves as a couple for the first time. Burtka and Harris are parents to fraternal twins Gideon Scott and Harper Grace.
