Darius started off his career as a child actor. In 1987 he made his debut in movies with the film “Big Shots”. He gave numerous guest appearances in TV and film shows. He gained all the recognition after he bagged the role of Eddie Winslow in 1988 for the TV show “Family Matters”. He earned his fame and wealth from portraying Eddie Winslow and others in TV soaps like “The Young and the Restless”. Darius played the role of a photographer in Malcolm Winters. He played the lead role of Tommy in the drama ‘Somethintg to Sing About’ that was produced by Billy Graham Association. He was the voice behind the robot Jazz in the movie “Transformers”. Darius also acted in movies like Saw VI, Next Day Air, and was a part of the stage play “The Maintenance Man”. In 2010, for an episode of I Get That a Lot, McCrary acted himself. He acted opposite Paris Hilton for that particular episode.
