Austin Lee Russell is a reality television star from the US. He has a net worth of $5 million. He gets a salary of $25,000 for each episode he appears on television. He has earned his wealth from Pawn Stars, a reality show on the History channel. It was produced by Leftfield Pictures. The show is set in Las Vegas, Nevada in the famous Gold and Silver Pawn Shop. It is a family business, run by Rick Harrison, the son of Richard Harrison also known as Old Man, and his son Corey Harrison, who is better known as Big Hoss.
Austin Russell used to work there and was a childhood friend of Big Hoss. He was employed for five years during the shoot. Austin was merely 21 years old when he was recruited for the first time. Chumlee is a nickname from a friend’s father after the sidekicks of the Tennessee Tuxedo. Austin is put to work behind-the-counter where he has to test items, load them and to write tickets for items purchased by customers.
Russell is also known as the Village Idiot because of his lack of intelligence and incompetence. People also make jokes about him for that. Chumlee, in response, said that he is an expert in pinball machines. In the second season, he came to be known as Pinball Wizard – even Corey was impressed by his knowledge of Pinball machines.
After the reality show was canceled, he started off his own shop where he used to sell vintage items. Later in 2010, Austin sold off half of the company to the Harrisons for efficient supply of goods. In the “I Lost My Vegas Head” episode of the American television series, iCarly, he appeared as himself along with Rick and Corey. He opened a candy shop named Chumlee's Candy on the Boulevard in May 2017 just across the street from the Gold and Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas.
