The legendary wrestler died on Friday May 20, 2011 in a car accident in Tampa, Fla., TMZ reports.

According to the accident report, Savage was behind the wheel of his Jeep Wrangler when he may have suffered a "medical event."

Florida Highway Patrol said Savage lost control of his vehicle and collided "head-on with a tree."

Savage's wife was in the vehicle, but survived with with "minor injuries."
