About Dave Batista
Nicknamed “The Animal”, Dave Batista is a former American professional wrestler, mixed martial artist, bodybuilder and actor who has an estimated net worth of $10 million. He was born David Michael Bautista Jr. on January 18, 1969 in Washington, D.C. He made his debut on Smackdown in May 2002. However, it was not until his move to RAW and two victories over Kane, that he began to make noise in the WWE Universe. Together with Ric Flair, Triple H and Randy Orton, they became known as Evolution.
He was best known during his time in the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), competing under the ring name Batista. He was a six-time world champion where he won the World Heavyweight Championship four times and the WWE Championship two times. He is also the longest-reigning World Heavyweight Champion in WWE history.
Batista has won the World Tag Team Championship three times – twice with Flair and once with John Cena. He also won the WWE Tag Team Championship once with Rey Mysterio. He is the winner of the 2005 Royal Rumble match. World Heavyweight Champion Triple H has viewed him as a serious threat to his title. He went on to headline the WrestleMania 21, the fourth biggest pay-per-view event in professional wrestling history by buys.
Dave Batista signed a contract with the WWF in 2000 after trying out at World Championship Wrestling’s Power Plant. He was sent to its development territory, the Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) where he won the OVW Heavyweight Championship. He left the WWE Universe on May 2010. He made appearances in the films The Scorpion King 3: Battle of Redemption (2012) and The Man with the Iron Fists (2012). He signed a contract with Classic Entertainment & Sports in August 2012 to fight in mixed martial arts. He made his debut on October 6, 2012 and won over Vince Lucero via TKO in the first round. He has an autobiography titled Batista Unleashed.
