A quarterback for the University of Minnesota, Tony Dungy played as a free agent defensive back for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League (NFL). Three years later, he signed with the San Francisco 49ers. Before his retirement in 1980, he spent a year at the camp of New York Giants.
After his retirement, he worked as an assistant coach to the University of Minnesota football team. Later on, he also worked for Kansas City Chiefs and Minnesota Vikings. Not long after, he became the head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Indianapolis Colts.
At the age of 25, Dungy became the youngest assistance coach and he became the first NFL Coach to defeat a total of 32 NFL teams. After his retirement, he became the analyst on Football Night in America of the NBC.
