Hasselbeck was signed by the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent in 2001. In 2002, he was signed to the Philadelphia Eagles practice squad as a free agent. He served as a backup quarterback from 2003-2004 for the Washington Redskins. He then signed up with the New York Giants from 2005-2006 as a backup for Eli Manning. He began playing for the Arizona Cardinals in 2007 but only appeared in one game. He has also spent short periods with the Baltimore Ravens and the Carolina Panthers. However, he never made it to the field for both teams. In the same year, he began working as a football analyst for ESPN and its affiliates.
