Orenthal James "O. J." Simpson was born on July 9, 1947 in San Francisco, California. He attended the University of Southern California. After spending two seasons with the university football team, he was drafted by the Buffalo Bills of the AFL. The Buffalo sent him to the San Francisco 49ers prior to the start of the 1978 season. He played with the 49ers for two seasons.
He was at the center of a highly publicized trial in 1994-1995 for the alleged murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and a waiter, Ronald Lyle Goldman.
In 2007, he was arrested for the charge of numerous felonies, which include kidnapping and armed robbery. A year later, the court found him guilty and was sentenced to serve 33 years in jail. He currently serves his sentence at Nevada’s Lovelock Correctional Center.
