David Tyree's career started when he was recruited to become a member of Montclair High School's football team and was selected to the Blue Chip Illustrated All-American. When he stepped in for the Syracuse Orange, he ranked 13th on the career receiving list with a record of 1,214 yards.

He joined the New York Giants in 2003. Tyree has been one of those players who took part in winning the Super Bowl XLII in 2007. The next season, he was enlisted to the injury reserve but released by the team 0n September 2009.

Tyree signed up for Baltimore Ravens in October 2009 and appeared in ten games for the team. He immediately signed a one-day contract with the Giants and decided to retire from NFL on July 29, 2010. He is currently the Director of Player Development for the New York Giants.
