Dashon Goldson started his career with the Tri-City Falcons, and Narbonne High School's football team. During his senior year at Narbonne, he recorded 130 tackles, six interceptions, and two returned for touchdowns.

He entered to play for the Washington Huskies from 2003 to 2006. Goldson contributed a total of 293 tackles, six interceptions, two forced fumbles, and one sack to the team. During the 2007 NFL Draft, he was selected as the fourth round, 126th overall pick by the San Francisco 49ers. While with the 49ers, he appeared in Pro Bowl in 2011 and 2012. He was named First-team All-Pro and the 49ers won the NFC Champion in 2012.
