Brian Orakpo is an American football player for the Washington Redskins who has an estimated net worth of $6 million.

During his teens, Brian Orakpo started playing football for the Lamar High School in Houston, Texas. He was a two-time all-district selection as a defensive end and tight end for the team.

In college, Orakpo played for the Texas Longhorn from 2004 to 2008. During his first year for the team, he was redshirted and eventually made a major impact for the Longhorn. He was hailed as Defensive Freshman of the Year and first-team All-America by The Sporting News. He also named as Defensive MVP during the Holiday Bowl in 2007.

Orakpo won the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, Ted Hendricks Award, Lombardi Award and Bill Willis Trophy in 2008. His successful career during his college years which he received honors such as unanimous first-team All-American and Associated Press Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year.

In 2009 NFL Draft, Orakpo was drafted by the Washington Redskins and signed a five-year contract. Then, he selected during the NFL Pro Bowl as a reserve. During the 2011 season, he was named as NFC Defensive Player of the Week. He received a non-exclusive franchise tag for the 2014 season, as he stays to the team for a year.
