Spencer Hawes started his basketball career when he played for the Seattle Prep as center. The team won the 2005-06 championship and was named the tournament MVP. In 2006, he was recognized as Gatorade Boys Basketball Washington Player of the Year and Seattle Times Player of the Year.
He attended University of Washington and joined the basketball team in 2006. Hawes was named to the Pac-10 all freshman team. On NBA, he was drafted by the Sacramento Kings in 2007. Then in 2010, he was traded to Philadelphia 76ers with Andres Nocioni for Samuel Dalembert. He was traded again, this time to the Cleveland Cavaliers on February 20, 2014.
