While playing collegiate for the Washington University, Nate Robinson was selected as the 21st overall pick in the first round of the 1995 NBA Draft by the Phoenix Suns. Not long after, he was traded to the New York Knicks. In 2010, he was again traded to the Boston Celtics in exchange for Bill Walker, J.R. Giddens, and Eddie House.
