A retired professional basketball player, Michael Finley was studying at the University of Wisconsin-Madison when he was drafted out by the Phoenix Suns as its 21st overall pick in the 1995 NBA Draft. He performed a solid play with the Suns on his first season but despite it, he was still traded to the Dallas Mavericks in December 1996 which he played for until 2005.
As an unrestricted free agent, he was pursued by the Phoenix, Minnesota, Miami, and Detroit but he chose to play with the San Antonio Spurs. He played with the team until 2010. In March 2010, he was officially signed by the Boston Celtics.
