Matt Barnes is a retired professional basketball player and he has an estimated net worth of $10 million. He played for 14 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA) before he finally announced his retirement from the league via an Instagram post on December 11, 2017 after winning an NBA Championship with the Golden State Warriors.
Born Matt Kelley Barnes on March 9, 1980 in Santa Clara, California, attended Del Campo High School in Fair Oaks, California, where he was a letterman in football and basketball. Each sport has earned him All-American, All-State, All-CIF, All-City, and All-League honors. He started his basketball career when he played collegiate basketball for the University of California Los Angeles for four seasons. He was an All-Pacific-10 Honorable Mention selection in 2001. In 2002, he was selected as the 46th overall pick in the second round of the 2002 NBA Draft by the Memphis Grizzlies.
Together with Nick Anderson, he was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for Wesley Person. His NBA debut came when he played for the Los Angeles Clippers in 2004. On the same year, he signed a contract with the Sacramento Kings. He also played for the Philadelphia 76ers and the Golden State Warriors. In 2008, he signed a one-year contract with the Phoenix Suns. After a year, he signed a two-year deal with the Orlando Magic and in 2012, he started playing for the Los Angeles Clippers. He also played with the Memphis Grizzlies (2015-2016) and Sacramento Kings (2016-2017) before returning to and playing for the last time in the NBA with the Golden State Warriors.
