At age four, Eric Gordon began his passion for basketball at the YMCA. When he attended the North Central High School, he led the team in winning the Indiana 4A title.
In 2007, he played for the Indiana Hoosiers as the team's shooting guard. Gordon was named as Big Ten Freshman of the Year and Big Ten Conference's First Team in 2008.
Gordon entered the 2008 NBA Draft and was chosen by the Los Angeles Clippers seventh pick for the said selection process. He played with the team from 2008 to 2011. He traded to the New Orleans Pelicans, in exchange to Chris Paul and two other players.
