Darius Miles was born on October 9, 1981 as Darius LaVar Miles in Belleville, Illinois USA. He married Brandi Nash on July 23, 2005. The retired American professional basketball player played as small forward for the Los Angeles Clippers. He was an opposing coach’s match up nightmare. At 6’9” (2.06m), he has the height of a front court player. However, at 235 lb (107 kg), he has the nimbleness and the ball handling ability of a player that is much smaller.

After Darius joined the Clippers, he teamed up with fellow NBA rookie Quentin Richardson for the most exciting and explosive tandems in the league. Two years in LA has ended when he was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers during the 2001-2002 season. His two-year stay with the Cavaliers was a bit frustrating and he was traded again. He landed with the Portland Trailblazers in the middle of the 2003-2004 season. He has returned to his true potential and he was given a contract extension for six years that is worth $48 million. In the middle of the 2005-2006 season, he severely injured his knee and his career was in doubt. On August 22, 2008, he was signed by the Boston Celtics to a non-guaranteed contract for a chance to play again. However, he was waived out of contract by October. He was signed by the Memphis Grizzlies in December of the same year. His career ended in 2009 with a controversy on his injury.

In between his basketball career, Darius Miles had a role in the comedy movie The Perfect Score (2004) with Erika Christensen, Scarlett Johansson, and Matthew Lillard. He has also appeared in National Lampoon’s Van Wilder (2002) together with former Clippers teammates Michael Olowokandi, Lamar Odom, and Richardson. He has appeared in the documentary The Youngest Guns (2004) which detailed his and Richardson’s first few years on the NBA.
