Chandler Parsons played for Lake Howell Silverhawks high school basketball team. While with the team, they won the state championship and was hailed as its Most Valuable Player in 2007. He was named as a first-team all state selection.

He accepted an athletic sponsorship at the University of Florida-Gainesville. During the 2011 season, Parsons averaged 11.3 points, and 7.8 rebounds in 34.1 minutes per game for the Gators. In the 2011 NBA Draft, he was selected as the second round, 38th overall pick by the Houston Rockets.

Parson became a unrestricted free agent after he finished the 2013-2014 season with the Rockets. Then, he signed a contract with the Dallas Mavericks.
