Anthony Bennett started his basketball career at Mountain State Academy. After a year, the school closed and he continued to play the ball at Findlay College Prep. He was hailed as number one forward overall in the high school class of 2012 and 7th for Scout.com list.

He joined the UNLV Runnin' Rebels basketball team in 2012-2013 season. When the season ended, he contributed an average of 16.1 points, and 8.1 rebounds per game. He decided to forego his final three years with the Rebels and entered the 2013 NBA Draft.

Bennett was chosen by the Cleveland Cavaliers as the first round, first overall pick during the selection process. He played in 52 games during the 2013-2014 NBA season, averaging 4.2 points, and 12 rebounds in 12.8 minutes per game. The following season, he was traded off to Minnesota Timberwolves.
