Retired American NASCAR driver Ricky Rudd has an estimated net worth of $25 million. Richards L. Rudd was born on September 12, 1956 in Norfolk County (now Chesapeake), Virginia. Nicknamed “The Rooster,” he began racing go-karts and motorbikes while he was still a teenager. He then switched to stock car racing when he was already eighteen years old. In 1975, he made his NASCAR debut at the North Carolina Speedway while driving the #10 Ford for family friend Bill Champion.

Known as “The Ironman” of NASCAR, he went fulltime in 1977 while driving the #22 for his father, Alvin R. Rudd Sr. He made ten top-ten finishes and was named Rookie of the Year. During the next season, he was forced to run part time due to limited funding from 1st National City Travelers Checks. Despite the situation, he still earned four top-tens and finished 31st in points.

In 1981, Rudd signed with DiGard Motorsports and drove the #88 Gatorade car. During his racing career in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, he had twenty-three wins with 374 Top Ten finishes and twenty-nine poles. In 1983, he has raced in the Nationwide Series and had one win with one Top Ten finish.

In 2007, after 32 years of NASCAR career, Ricky Rudd announced his retirement. Currently, he is living a quiet life at his home in Cornelius, North Carolina. Upon his retirement, he was inducted into the 2007 Virginia Hall of Fame. In 2010, he was selected to the Hampton Roads Sports Hall of Fame. On February 7, 2012, he signed as an analyst for the SPEED Center, a Speed Channel weekend show.
