Anthony Pettis is an American mixed martial artist who competes in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
Anthony Pettis began his professional debut in 2007, as he compete in several fights in Milwaukee. Prior to this, he was a trained kickboxer by Duke Roufus and member of Roufusport.
Upon landing a spot in the WEC, as Pettis debuted during the WEC 41 and won against Mike Campbell. Then, he was defeated by Bart Palaszewski in WEC 45. As he faced other fighters such as Danny Castillo, Shane Roller, and Benson Henderson, he recognized as WEC Lightweight Champion before WEC was merged to Ultimate Fighting Championship in October 2010.
During his stint with UFC, Pettis got the Lightweight Championship and earned his Submission of the Night on August 31, 2013. He will serve as coach in the upcoming The Ultimate Fighter 20 which the series was announced in December 2013.
Anthony Pettis was born on January 27, 1987 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. At an early age, he was trained in taekwondo and boxing. He attended Dominican High School. He is married to Alexandra Cartagena and has a daughter. Aside from his career in MMA, he owns Showtime Sports Bar located in Milwaukee.
