Manx professional road racing cyclist Mark Cavendish has a net worth of $8 million. He rides for UCI ProTeam Omega Pharma-Quick Step.
Originally a track cyclist specialising in the madison, points race and scratch race disciplines, he has competed on the road since 2006, rising to prominence as a sprinter. As a road cyclist he achieved 11 wins in his first professional season. Cavendish has won 20 Tour de France stages, putting him in joint sixth place on the all-time list.
He won the 2011 BBC Sports Personality of the Year. He is the UK ambassador for the new Head & Shoulders limited edition Active Sport shampoo. Cavendish also has a footwear contract with Nike, and another endorsement deal with Oakley. He lives on the Isle of Man, has a training base in Quarrata, Tuscany, and also owns an apartment in Italy.
