Wade Redden is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player with an estimated net worth of $53 million.
Wade Redden played minor hockey for Hillmond High School and Mid West Red Wings. He joined Lloydminster Blazers for one season only. After his brief stint with the team, he transferred to Western Hockey League's Brandon Wheat Kings.
During his first year with the team, he received the Jim Piggott Memorial Trophy. Redden entered the 1995 NHL Entry Draft and was selected as the 2nd overall by the New York Islanders and traded to Ottawa Senators. He appeared to play during the NHL All-Star Game in 2002.
On July 1, 2008, Redden became an unrestricted free agent and was signed to a six-year contract with New York Rangers. Two months later, he was placed on waiver due to his declining performance with the team and assigned to Rangers' American Hockey League affiliate, Hartford Wolf Pack. During his tenure with the team, he was hailed as the captain in 2011-2012 season.
The following season, he returned to NHL and joined the St. Louis Blues. Eventually, he was traded once again, this time for the Boston Bruins. Redden announced his retirement on January 9, 2014.
