Ryan Getzlaf started his career when he was drafted by the Calgary Hitmen in the WHL Bantam Draft in 2000. In 2003, he was chosen to play for the Anaheim Mighty Ducks during the NHL Entry Draft.
Before he played for the major league hockey, Getzlaf assigned to play for the Anaheim's affiliate, Cincinnati Mighty Ducks in 2005. The following season, he made his NHL debut for the Anaheim Mighty Ducks.
