Peter Forsberg is a retired Swedish ice hockey player for Colorado Avalanche.

Peter Forsberg debuted in 1990 when he played for his hometown's team, Modo Hockey. He joined the Philadelphia Flyers during the NHL Entry Draft in 1991, but he was drafted by the Quebec Nordiques for Eric Lindros.

In 1995, he debuted in NHL when he played against the Flyers. Also on the same year, the Nordiques was sold to the COMSAT Entertainment Group and the team moved to Denver, Colorado. The franhise was known as the Colorado Avalanche. The team won two Stanley Cup in 1996 and 2001.

During his stint as an ice hockey player, Forsberg also played for the Nashville Predators and Philadelphia Flyers. He returned to play for the Avalanche in 2001, and decided to retire his jersey on October 8, 2011. After retirement, hebecame the assistant general manager of Modo Sports.

Peter Mattias Forsberg was born on July 20, 1973 in Örnsköldsvik, Sweden. He and his childhood friend, Markus Näslunda formed Icebreakers; an organization which they bring together other professional ice hockey players in an exhibition games to raise charitable funds. He is married to Nicole Nordin and has a son.
