Markus Näslund is a retired Swedish ice hockey player with an estimated net worth of $33 million.

Markus Naslund joined the regional team based in Angermanland when he was 14 years old. The team won at TV-pucken championship in 1988. He played for one season with the Örnsköldsviks SK where he appeared in 14 games, and scored 7 goals and 13 points.

The following season, he became a member of J20 SuperElit's Modo Hockey. Naslund moved to Modo's professional team in the Elitserien and recorded 10 goals and 19 points in his rookie season with the team. During the off-season, he was selected as the 16th overall pick by the Pittsburgh Penguins during the 1991 NHL Entry Draft.

After encountering conflicts in moving to NHL, he joined the Penguins in the 1993-94 season. Naslund admitted that he experienced struggles while with the team. He was demoted from Penguins's International Hockey League affiliate, Cleveland Lumberjacks.

Naslund was traded to the Vancouver Canucks and spent 12 years with the team. In 2000, he was named as the team captain for the Canucks. Also, he was hailed as a five-time Cyclone Taylor Award and six-time Cyrus H. McLean Trophy recipient. After his stint with the team, he signed a two-year contract with New York Rangers.

He announced his retirement on May 4, 2009 and returned to play for Elitserien along with his friend, Pete Forsberg during the remainder of 2009-2010 season.
