Corey Perry started playing ice hockey when he joined the OMHA Eastern League's Peterborough Minor Petes AAA organization. He led the Petes in winning the OHL Cup Bantam AAA championship.
When he landed into the minor hockey field, Perry was drafted by the London Knights during the fifth overall from the Ontario Hockey League in the 2001 Priority Draft. He made his debut for the Anaheim Ducks during the 2005-06 season.
He led the Ducks for winning the Stanley Cup championship during the 2006-07 season. On March 18, 2013, Perry signed an eight-year contract for the Ducks. He played for the Team Canada and won gold medal for men's ice hockey competition in the Winter Olympics in 2010 and 2014.
