Andrew Flintoff, a former English cricketer, is thought to be worth $20 million. He amassed his fortune while playing for Lancashire County Cricket Club, Chennai Super Kings of the Indian Premier League, and England. He became a broadcaster, author, real estate developer, and entrepreneur after retiring from cricket due to a knee injury.

Colin Flintoff, Flintoff's father, was a plumber and factory worker who also served as the captain of Dutton Forshaw's second XI cricket team. Andrew went to Ribbleton Hall High School and Greenlands Community Primary School (subsequently renamed City of Preston High School). He did well academically at City of Preston High School, passing nine GCSEs, but he did not want to continue his education and dropped out at the age of 16. He was a keen chess player and played cricket for the Lancashire Schools under-11s and under-15s teams as a child. He then played for England's under-19 cricket team for two and a half years.

Flintoff stands 6'4" and is a fast bowler, batsman, and slip fielder. He is consistently rated as one of the top international allrounders in both One Day International (ODI) and Test cricket by the International Cricket Council (ICC). He made his England debut in 1998 and has since developed into a key player. He was the team's captain and vice-captain. Despite this, he sustained numerous injuries through most of his professional career as a result of his large frame and bowling action. He appeared in just 13 of England's 36 Test matches between 2007 and 2009. Despite this, he remained a key member of England's squad. He was only chosen when he was available.

Andrew retired from Test cricket on July 15, 2009, marking the end of the 2009 Ashes series on August 24. He did, however, make himself available for future ODI and Twenty20 International commitments. On September 7, 2009, it was reported that he suffered a deep vein thrombosis following knee surgery. On 16 September 2010, he announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. On November 30, 2012, he made his professional boxing debut. He won in a unanimous decision against American Richard Dawson. He was awarded BBC Sports Personality of the year 2005, MCC Spirit of the Cricket Award 2005, and BBC Sports Personality third place in 2004.

A lot of TV films and documentaries have been made about his life. In Freddie Flintoff: Hidden Side of Sport, which aired on BBC One in 2012, he talked openly about the severe effects of depression, bulimia, and mental health in interviews with Steve Harmison, Vinnie Jones, Ricky Hatton, and others. He discussed his own issues as England's captain under media scrutiny at the highest point of his game. In the eyes of an often brutal public, Freddie illustrates the social stigma of talking about depression. He has hosted "Don't Rock the Boat" (2020), Carnage, and currently hosts Top Gear, as well as Total Wipeout -Freddie & Paddy Takeover, and was recently featured in DNA Journey. On Top Gear, his salary is said to be £500,000 per season. Freddie has authored numerous books throughout his career, including Being Freddie: My Story Thus Far (2005), Freddie: My World (2006), Andrew Flintoff: My Life in Pictures (2004), Second Innings: My Sporting Life (2015), Freddie Flintoff: Ashes to Ashes (2009), Good Times, Bad Times (2008), and Do You Know What? Freddie Flintoff's Life (2018).

Freddie, his close friend Robbie Savage (best known as the captain of Blackburn Rovers), and ex-professional table tennis player Matthew Syed co-host the BBC Radio 5 Live podcast Flintoff, Savage, and The Ping Pong Guy. The podcast has garnered widespread acclaim, including Best Podcast and Best New Show at the 2017 Radio Academy Awards, as well as Freddie winning the Best New Presenter category.

Flintoff is in a happy marriage with Rachael Wools. They tied the knot in Knightsbridge, London, in March 2005. They're the parents of four.

In 2018, it was reported that he was involved in development along Mancunian Way to construct a new tower block. The two structures came to be known as the "Flintoff towers." Flintoff resubmitted his application for a 23-story residential tower in Castlefield in June 2019 after the original was rejected for being too tall. In July 2019, a shorter version with a Simpson Haugh-designed tower was approved. The new structure will have 23 rather than 35 stories.
