Hughes went on to manage Wales international team and several Premier League teams, including Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham, Queens Park Rangers, Stoke City and Southampton. He signed a contract on March 14, 2018 and helped the club to safety at the end of the 2017–18 season, and left the club in December 2018.
