Louis van Gaal is a Dutch football coach and former football player who has an estimated net worth of $18.3 million.

Louis van Gaal started his career as a football player for RKSV De Meer. At age 20, he joined the Ajax team in 1972. He was loaned to the Royal Antwerp and spent four seasons with the team. In 1977, he returned to his homeland, and played for the Telstar. Then, he transferred to Sparta Rotterdam from 1978 to 1986.

He joined AZ Alkmaar in 1986 until the following season. Van Gaal also became the team's assistant coach. His managerial career began in 1991 for Ajax. During his tenure for the team, they won the Eredivisie championship thrice as well as the UEFA Cup in 1992. They were also named as runner-up for UEFA Champions League in 1994-95 season.

Van Gaal moved to Barcelona and took over Bobby Robson's role as coach in 1997. He helped the team win the league championships in 1997-1998 and 1998-1999 season and the coveted Copa del Rey title. He handled the Netherlands national team in 2000-2002.

After managing the national team in 2002, he returned to Barcelona. Van Gaal became the technical director of Ajax in 2004. He also managed Bayern Munich from 2009 to 2011 before he returned to the Netherlands national team in 2012. In 2014, he joined as manager for the Manchester United.
