Born as William Stephen Belichick on April 16, 1952 in Nashville, Tennessee, Bill Belichick finished a degree in economics at Wesleyan University. After graduation, he took the job as an assistant to Baltimore Ravens’ head coach. Subsequently, he began working for other football franchises like Detroit Lions, Denver Broncos and had a 12-year career with the San Francisco Giants, before he was promoted as the head coach.
His head coaching career only started in 1991 with the Cleveland Browns. However, he was fired in 1995 and his head coaching career only resumed in 2000 with New England Patriots. Under his coaching, he led the team to five Super Bowls where they won three (XXXVI, XXXVIII, and XXXIX Superbowls), and lost two Superbowls (XLII and XLVI). In 2003, 2007 and 2010 seasons, he was hailed as the AP NFL Coach of the Year.
After his dismissal from Cleveland Browns in 1995, he was hired as secondary coach and assistant head coach by the New England Patriots in 1996. In 1997 to 1999, he was hired as assistant head coach and defensive backs coach by the New York Jets.
