Retired American boxer Ray Mancini has an estimated net worth of $5 million. He was born Raymond Michael Mancini on March 4, 1961 in Youngstown, Ohio, USA to a family of prominent boxers. His father, Lenny Mancini, was a top-ranked contender during the 1940s, and served as Ray’s inspiration.

Mancini began his professional boxing career in 1979, catching the attention of executives from different American television networks with his whirlwind punching style. This led to him becoming a regular on their various sports programs. He defeated a number of top-ranked boxers, such as Norman Goins and Jose Luis Ramirez.

In 1981, Ray Mancini fought Alexis Arguello for the WBC Lightweight Championship, but ended up defeated. After seven months of training, he fulfilled his dream and won the title with a victory against Arturo Frias.

Nicknamed “Boom Boom,” he is best known for being the World Boxing Association lightweight champion between 1982 and 1984. His wins included a fierce knockout against Duk-Koo Kim who died after. He suffered from emotional trauma with Kim’s death and lost his title in his fight against Livingstone Bramble in 1984. He also lost in a rematch after a close decision in 1985 which led to his retirement.

Boom Boom Mancini came out of retirement but he lost in a controversial fight against Hector Camacho in 1989 and a convincing loss to Greg Haugen in 1992. He finally left boxing for good right after. He made a record of 29 wins and five losses with 23 knockouts.
