Jose Reyes is a Dominican baseball athlete who currently plays shortstop in the MLB for the Toronto Blue Jays.
José Bernabé Reyes was born on June 11, 1983 in Villa González, Santiago, Dominican Republic. After playing in the Minor League, Reyes debuted into the Major League Baseball in 2003 with the New York Mets. He played for the team until 2011. After playing for the Mets, he was signed by the Miami Marlins to a six-year, $106 million deal.
Along with John Buck, Emilio Bonifacio, Mark Buehrle and Josh Johnson, Jose Reyes was traded to the Toronto Blue Jays. The deal was initiated in exchange for Anthony DeSclafani, Justin Nicolino, Jake Marisnick, Yunel Escobar, Henderson Alvarez, Adeiny Hechavarria and Jeff Mathis.
Currently, Jose Reyes is married to his wife, Katherine, with whom he has three children. He has appeared on the cover of Major League Baseball 2K8 and Major League Baseball 2K8 Fantasy All-Stars.
