Hideki Matsui was born on June 12, 1974, in Neagari, Ishikawa, Japan. After graduating from the Seiryo High School, he was drafted as a first-round pick by the Yomiuri Giants at the Nippon Professional Baseball of Japan. He spent eight seasons with the Yomiuri Giants. From 2003 to 2009, he played in the Major League Baseball for the New York Yankees. From 1994 to 2002, he has been named to the All-Star in the NPB. He was also a three-time series champion in Japan. In the Major League Baseball, he won as the World Series champion in 2009. On the same season, he was named as the World Series MVP.
