American baseball athlete Dustin Pedroia currently plays second baseman for the Boston Red Sox of the MLB. In 2003, he was a part of the US National Baseball team, which won a silver medal at the Pan American Games.

Dustin Luis Pedroia was born on August 17, 1983 in Woodland, California, USA. An alumnus of Arizona State University, Pedroia was selected by the Boston Red Sox as a second round (65th overall) pick of the 2004 Major League Baseball Draft. He received a signing bonus which cost $575,000. In 2008, he was signed by the Red Sox to a six-year, $40.5 million contract extension, with an $11 million team option in 2015. In July 2013, Pedroia and the Boston Red Sox agreed to an eight-year, $110 million contract extension.

To date, Pedroia has been a four-time All Star pick (2008, 2009, 2010 and 2013). In 2008, he was also selected as a recipient of the Silver Slugger Award. Pedroia was also a part of the franchise which won as the World Series Champion in 2007 and 2013.
