Cal Ripken Jr. is a former American professional baseball player with an estimated net worth of $55 million.

Cal Ripken Jr. started playing baseball while attending Aberdeen High School. As a shortstop and pitcher, he contributed a batting average of .688 and posting an 0.79 ERA with 45 strikeouts. While with the Aberdeen Eagles, they won the Maryland state championship against Thomas Stone High School.

He was selected by the Baltimore Orioles as the second round of the 1978 Major League Baseball Draft. Ripken Jr. was assigned to the team's minor league affiliate, Bluefield Orioles. During his stint with the team, he batted .264 with 63 hits. Other teams that he played for include the Single-A Miami Orioles, Charlotte Orioles, and Rochester Red Wings.

Ripken Jr. was called up by the Orioles in 1981. During his-20 year stint with the team, he received numerous accolades such as eight Silver Slugger awards, two Gold Glove Awards, and American League MVP award in 1983 and 1991. He decided to retire from playing baseball in 2001. Six years later, he was elected to the Hall of Fame.
