Bryce Aron Max Harper was born on October 16, 1992, in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. After attending Las Vegas High School, Harper studied at the College of Southern Nevada. In 2010, he was selected as the first overall pick by the Washington Nationals in the MLB Entry Draft.

Eventually, he was signed by the Nationals to a five-year, $9.9 million contract, which included a signing bonus of $6.25 million. Harper debuted into the MLB with the Nationals in 2012 in a match against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

After he was named High School Player of the Year by Baseball America in 2009, Harper became the recipient of the Golden Spikes Award a year later. Before the start of the 2012 season, people named him as among the top three prospects by several baseball prospect-watchers which include MLB.com, Baseball Prospectus, and Baseball America.

In 2012 and 2013, Harper was one of the players selected to an All-Star Game, which made him the youngest player to have ever been in the selection. In 2012, he won as the NL Rookie of the Year.
