In what can only be described as a shocking turn of events, the Las Vegas Shooter allegedly killed someone before the massacre. The local Clark County Sheriff, Joe Lombardo, told the media that a significant change has been made to the timeline of what is now the worst mass shooting in modern, American history.
The local Sheriff believes the significant change in the event’s timeline alters the whole perspective of the shooting and left many investigators baffled. The new revelation has thrown the investigation further into disarray as they continue to desperately find clues as to the motive behind why Stephen Paddock unleashed such havoc upon the crowd of innocent concert-goers.
At the time of the attack, security guard Jesus Campos was hailed as a hero by authorities for diverting the gunman’s attention away from the festival crowd and ultimately ending the attack. However, according to FoxNews.com, new details have since emerged that Campos was indeed not the end of the attack, but instead, the first victim of the massacre as Paddock actually shot Campos six minutes before shooting into the crowd of 22,000 concert-goers.
Before the attack occurred, Campos was initially investigating the 32nd floor after an alarm was triggered in another room, signaling that a door had been left open. Upon nearing the room, Campos heard a strange drilling sound coming from Paddock’s room, however, upon hearing the sound, Paddock shot Campos through the door and reportedly fired 200 shots into the hallway.
It is believed that Paddock was drilling into the adjacent wall to the doorway, with the intention to place either a camera or rifle through the hole—fortunately, the drilling was not completed.
In total, it has been revealed that Paddock set up three different cameras, in which two were placed in the hallway, including one on a service cart, and another was placed over the suites peephole. Investigators believe that Paddock used the camera network as a way to help determine if anyone was descending on his room—which would help explain how Paddock knew that Campos was investigating the floor and slowly nearing his suites door.
Thankfully though, Campos survived the attack and was able to notify authorities of what had happened – ultimately providing the critical details that gave police Paddock’s exact location.
Lombardo has now officially stated that Campos was shot in the leg at 9:59 pm, six minutes before Paddock unleashed gunfire on the crowd attending the Route 91 Harvest Festival. According to the police, Paddock opened fire on the crowd for approximately 10 minutes, before firing his final bullets at 10:15 p.m. In total, 58 innocent people were killed during the attack, while more than 570 were injured.
Although further details are currently scarce regarding the motive behind Stephen Paddock’s massacre, we can only hope that the coming weeks bring more concrete proof to help bring closure to the victims of this devastating attack.
